Arnold Arthur Bauer Obituary

Arnie Bauer, 73, fulfilled his wish of dying at home with family alongside him on Wednesday morning, September 18, 2024, in Warren, MN.

Arnold Arthur was born on April 18, 1951, in Anoka, MN, to Arnold Andrew and Patricia (Ward) Bauer. The family moved to California when he was a boy, returning to Minnesota in the 1960s where he lived in Bloomington and Onamia. He lived with his parents for many years and was primary caretaker for his mother until moving to be near his brother, Jeff, in Warren. Here he blossomed, making friends, taking care of his church and cemetery, and enjoying the company of his family. Approaching it the way he approached everything else in his life, Arnie was a meticulous craftsman, and in addition to repairing and restoring his home (with many trips to Menards), he framed pictures for his each member of his family with a professional level of attention to detail.

Arnie was always modest, and wouldn't like too much to be said of him. But beneath his very humble exterior was a man who showed love through hard work, patience, and a quiet kindness that followed him wherever he went. He was admittedly a poor communicator, but took joy in silently taking care of others. When he did get talking he had a quick wit and a childlike smile that lit up his face. He liked the simple things best: the affection of animals, working outside, and thinking about God.

What more can be said? He had a good soul and will be missed.

Arnie is survived by his siblings, Mary Rose, Ruth Davis, Theresa (Gary) Hauan, Mike Bauer, Cathy (Dick) Hoheisel, Donna Havemeier, Barbara (Mark) Fritz; sister-in-law, Kathi Bauer; brother-in-law, Rick Sivula; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jeff Bauer; sister, Susan Sivula; and brothers-in-law, Mike Rose and Dan Davis.
