Reconciliation/Adoration

PARISH ADORATION

Many have responded to the invitation to pray before our exposed Lord on Tuesday’s from 9:00 am to 9:30 pm.  One time slot remains open from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.  Please consider making that your time to take a weekly holy hour.

Know that everyone is invited to come to Adoration whether you are signed up or not.  Simply stop in the chapel (parish living room) on Tuesdays.  Stay for as long as you wish.  Rest in the Lord.  Don’t know what to do?  There are books and prayers available in the chapel for your use.

What would be a real answer to prayer is to have so many people interested in adoring Jesus that we would have to expand our  hours and/or have Adoration more than one day per week.

We are in need of people willing to be subs for the people who are signed up for a particular time slot in the event they are unable to come at their appointed time.  If you feel you cannot commit each week to spending time with Jesus, please consider being a sub.

If you have any questions or would like to become a part of this parish ministry, call JoAnne Ranstrom at 745-4905 or 201-0756.

ADORATION/RECONCILIATION:

6 STEPS FOR A GOOD CONFESSION

  1. Examine your conscience - what sins have you committed since your last good confession.
  2. Be sincerely sorry for your sins.
  3. Confess your sins to the priest.
  4. Make certain that you confess all your mortal sins and the number of them.
  5. After your confession, do the penance the priest gives to you.
  6. Pray daily for the strength to avoid the occasion of sin, especially for those sins you were just absolved from.

ACT OF CONTRITION

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You, and I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell, but most of all because they offend You, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life.
Amen.
