Dear Brothers and Sisters,

     Lent is near (in February). Time flies fast. The Ash Wednesday Service will be on February 17, at 6 p.m at Warren. It is the day of fast and abstinence.

     Thank you very much once again for to donors of the chalice and cups. Now the wish-list is fulfilled by your generosity. Thank you also for hosting the Diocesan Synod Meeting at the deanery level.

     Please note that there will be a Blessing of the Throats on Sunday, February 7, at 9.15 am, before the Mass. (the date is changed for the convenience) to honor the  feast day of  St. Blaise. Please come and get healed of your ailments. On the same day, I am celebrating my Ordination day marking 22 years of my priesthood.

     To appreciate the Year of Priests, in this year as announced by Pope Benedict the XVI, the Knight of Columbus in our parish are organizing a supper to appreciate the priests of our deanery and those who help us from time to time. It will be on Sunday February, 28 at 5 p.m in the social hall

     Please contact the office before February 22nd, if you plan to attend this celebration  The free will offering will go to the parish development fund. Thanks in advance for the kindness of the Knights of Columbus.

     We are looking for volunteers for church cleaning, RE co-ordination, Janitors help, and Pastor's assistance, etc; to reduce the expenses, as well as to encourage volunteerism in our parish. If you are interested, please contact the office, or me.

     I am also organizing “Think Tank” team to elicit creative ideas to improve the parish ministry, and to offer meaningful homily suggestions to the pastor. If you are willing to join the team, I invite you every 4th Tuesday of the month at 6 pm to the rectory starting on February 23rd. There will be no hard work except to bring good ideas from your creative mind. Come and see. You will have fun. There will be a sign-up sheet in the church front.

     We welcome Newcomers with their Catholic spouses. May God bless you for bringing more members into our church. Please continue to attend the Sunday Mass, which takes only 45 minutes per week, and be an inspiration and example of Faith in action to neighbors and others.

Please remember to inform the office, or Father Emmanuel, if you are going into the hospital and want a visit or prayers.  The hospital will not do this for you since the privacy laws have been tightened.  We will be glad to pray for you and your family members.
