YEAR FOR PRIESTS LETTERS OF APPRECIATION PROJECT:  Pope Benedict XVI has declared June 19, 2009 – June 19, 2010 the “Year for Priests”.  In appreciation for our priests, the youth of our parish will be collecting cards/letters of appreciation for our priests during the month of February.  A basket is available for all cards in the vestibule.  Only the name of the priest is needed on the envelope.  See JoAnne Ranstrom with any questions you may have concerning this project

YOUTH 2000, March 19-21 @ Cathedral
Attention all young people ages 13-30!  The challenging message of Popes Benedict XVI and John Paul II is being spread throughout the United States by an initiative called YOUTH 2000.  YOUTH 2000 is responding to the call to enable young people to live and proclaim the Gospel.  You are invited to a YOUTH 2000 Retreat on March 19-21 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston.  You will have the opportunity to gather with other young people your age in prayer, adoration, singing, and learning about our Catholic Faith.  Students in grades 7 through 10 have already received registration forms at class.  Forms for anyone else interested in attending may be picked up in the church entry on the tables.  For more information or details, contact JoAnne Ranstrom.  We hope to see you there!

DIOCESAN ANNUAL APPEAL:  The 2010 Diocesan Annual Appeal begins today.  The parish goal is to achieve 100% response from our parishioners toward reaching our goal.  Your participation in the DAA is a sign of your Christian concern for others.  Through the 2010 Diocesan Annual Appeal, you are able, with one gift, to join the other Catholics of the Church of Crookston in doing God’s work.  Please pray about your personal pledge to the appeal.

About our pastor.....

Fr. Emmanuel S. Sylvester has devoted his life to help people discover and develop their own unique qualities of greatness. He has served among the tribals in West Bengal, India, as Headmaster in a Bengali medium high school. He holds a Masters in Social Work from Loyola College, Madras. He served as a chaplain for seven years for migrant Bengalis in Mumbai. He has written more than 26 books (in English, Tamil languages) on socially-relevant issues. He is presently pursuing higher studies while serving in our parish.
